Why the ram mandir’s place were disputed

The Babri Masjid was built between 1528 and 1529 by the Mughal Emperor Babar, and its location has a long history. Subsequently, it became into a contentious location, sparking an extensive court conflict. In order to move forward with the construction of the Ram Temple, the Supreme Court resolved the ownership dispute on November 9, 2019, accepting 2.77 acres of contested property as the birthplace of Lord Ram.

Beginning of Ram mandir era in Ayodhya :

On August 5, 2020—the day the temple’s foundation was laid—Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted the Bhumi Pujan ceremony in response to the Supreme Court’s ruling.

The Ram mandir complex occupies about 2.7 acres of land, with 54,700 square feet of space. The total temple complex will occupy over 70 acres, with enough space to house ten lakh worshippers at a time.

The architectural plan is being overseen by the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust for the construction of the temple. Between ₹1,400 crores to ₹1,800 crores are thought to be needed to construct the temple. Donations of between 60 and 70 lakh rupees are being received by the Trust to help build the magnificent temple.

Renowned for its strength and beauty, Rajasthani Bansi Pahadpur Balaua stone was used in the complex carvings that make up the Ram mandir. Numerous stunning structures across the nation have made use of this unique pink marble stone.

For the main structure, Larsen & Toubro is responsible for construction, and Tata Consultancy Engineers Limited is in charge of developing the facilities.

The temple’s dimensions are as follows: it is 161 feet high, 235 feet wide, and 360 feet long. Chief architect Chandrakant Bhai Sompura’s design incorporates Nagar architectural style and adheres to the precepts of Vastu Shastra. The eastern gateway, which symbolizes the southern temples, will be designed in the Gopuram style. There will be artistic representations of Lord Ram’s life on the temple walls.

There would be a circular construction encircling the octagonal garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum). The temple will include five domes and a 161-foot-tall central tower. The garbhagriha, one of the temple’s three floors, is intended to catch sunlight and reflect it onto the idol of Ram Lalla, which represents Lord Ram as a newborn. On both sides, there will also be prayer halls, a kirtan mandap, a dance mandap, a color mandap, and a covered assembly hall.

There will be two sculptures of Lord Ram erected: a big sculpture that can be seen from a distance and a real idol that was discovered in 1949.

The temple’s 2,100-kilogram bell is being transported from Agra, which is a well-known location for bell manufacture in India. It will cost 21 lakhs and be 5 feet broad and 6 feet tall.

Sagwan wood, which has a lifespan of more than a century, has been procured from Chandrapur, Maharashtra, for the doors and windows. After a ceremonial opening, work on these magnificent doors and windows is scheduled to begin between June 26 and June 30.

This magnificent building is intended to last for over a millennium. In an interview with Asianet News, Nripendra Mishra, the chairman of the Temple Construction Committee of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, said, “The sole purpose is to make this temple durable and unique for the next 1,000 years.”

The Ram Temple in Ayodhya won’t need repairs for a millennium, according to Secretary-General Champat Rai of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Rai claims that an earthquake with a Richter scale intensity of 6.5 could not destroy the temple’s structural integrity. By adding thicker pillars and large stones to the walls, the foundation has been reinforced. The foundation of the stone temple is fifteen feet below the surface.
